Dr Lay Tay
MBBS BSc FRCPA- benign haematology such as anaemia
- haemostasis and thrombosis
Dr Lay Tay is a specialist in haematology, with main interests in benign haematology such as anaemia, haemostasis and thrombosis. She also treats patients with malignant conditions such as myelodysplasia, lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloproliferative disorders.
She had many years of experience working in tertiary teaching hospitals, Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and Royal North Shore (RNS), and during this time she developed interests in research and clinical trials.
Dr Tay has also worked in haemophilia treatment centres and thalassaemia units in both Sydney and Adelaide and has been involved in clinical trials of both conditions.
She has worked previously in NSW Mid-North Coast and Wellington in NZ as well, prior to joining Medlab Pathology (now part of Australian Clinical Labs) in 2018.
During her professional career, she has been active in teaching and participating in a variety of clinical trials. She is fluent in English, as well as other languages or dialects including Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien.
